Hi, I hope y'all had a wonderful weekend! On Saturday, Joel and I decided to finally go to the Zoo. We planned to go a few weeks back, but it ended up being a rainy day, so we took advantage of the beautiful weather and headed there. We were cracking up the whole time because we were the only ones there without kids. We definitely enjoyed the "us" time, so people had their hands full.
While there, I reminisced a lot about how I always said I wanted to be a Vet when I was little. Well, thank you Right brain, I do not excel in science and math, so when I got to college I knew I'd never make it. But, I still have a desire to somehow work with animals one day. I even asked the zookeeper what she did to get her job... I know I'm the most indecisive person ever. But who knows, I've only been on Earth for 23 years and I still have dreams I want to chase!
Enjoy the pictures!
How could this animal loving girl go to the Zoo without stopping at the petting zoo? Duh, I couldn't resist. I dragged myself in there along with 15 other 8 years old, yep, oldest one there and not ashamed. Although I did have some hard feelings with the goat tamer lady because she didn't give me a brush when I walked in. Guess you had to be 8 and under to score one of those. Oh well, me and tweedy had a good time even though I couldn't give him a hair brushing.
This Guy was a beauty! But, I will say, he's got nothing on our Mike! (History) Most of you know that I went to LSU undergrad, and well, I was very lucky to have a tiger on campus and could go look at him anytime I want. It really was amazing. Love the tigers!
Who doesn't love a prairie dog? Woof.
Pride Rock, anyone? Everytime I see the lion exhibit, I just feel immediate fear running through my body that one of them is going to jump the guard rail and maul me alive. I know, I kind of have issues. Don't get me started on the feelings I get when seeing a Shark.
So mighty they'd rather eat newspaper.
Gentle Beautiful creatures.
Happy Hubby! He's always the fun loving kid who still stays youthful :)
After seeing Water for Elephants, I just get so emotional seeing an elephant.
Aren't they just the cutest?
Who doesn't love a pink bird?
Alright, now onto my favorite animal, the kangaroo! I mean, they are just the cutest things. On Winnie the Pooh, Roo was my favorite character. I even had the stuffed animal that I slept with every night. Joel and I sat at their exhibit for probably 20 minutes just watching them and chatting with the kangaroo tamer. They are fascinating animals.
So, cheers to being a kid again and having a blast at the Zoo!
