Our Story

On July 23, 2006 I locked eyes with the most handsome curly golden haired boy I'd ever seen. We met at a high school student ministry retreat and grew very fond of each other while we were there. After the retreat ended, we exchanged phone numbers and Joel created a facebook THAT DAY, so he could stalk my photos keep up wuth me. We began to officially date on November 18, 2006 and have been together since. We did the long distance thing for about 6 months until I moved to Baton to begin LSU Summer school. Before we graduated from high school, we got to go to go to two proms together, and got the best of both worlds!

We both went to LSU in 2007, and began our college life together. We experienced a lot together during college, and I really am so glad we had each other during this time. We both went through a lot and were there for each other when things weren't rainbows and butterflies. We also had a lot of fun ! Some of the best times we ever had were in those 4 years, and we really miss it terribly.

In the summer of 2010, we traveled Europe together for 4 weeks and studied in Barcelona for 4 weeks. This was one of the best times we had together. Our relationship grew so strong, and we got to know one another so much more during this experience. I also realize that my husband is really good at being a tour guide and can successfully get us from Venice, Italy to Paris, France in 16 hours. I was impressed.

We returned from Europe, and started our last fall semester at LSU. Later in October on the 19th, he proposed to me at the same place he asked me to be his girlfriend almost 4 years ago (at that time). I obviously said yes, and we started a wonderful 9 month engagement. During this time, Joel graduated from LSU a semester early in December of 2010, and I graduated in May of 2011.

We had the most amazing wedding on July 16th 2011 at 1pm and became husband and wife! I wish I could re live this day every day of my life. It was the best day of my life thus far.

Now, we are living our new life in Alabama and are loving life as newlyweds! Joel is in medical school and I work full time. We have a puppy named Rayne and are loving exploring a new city !
